Pumpkins....

This year we've gone to Black Island Farms a few times....it's been fun each time we go. My mom and sister and I were all able to have a Saturday off where we could all go with the boys and enjoy the pumpkin patch.
 This was pretty funny....
The "train" ride was a huge hit this year!

My sister and I...being silly. I love this girl...she has seriously been a huge help in making sure I enjoy the little moments in life.

not sure this is such a great idea....
On another Saturday, we all woke up and carved our pumpkins.

It's been so fun lately!

The Big 6 Year Old....

Happy Birthday Carter! This little dude is so spoiled! This year's birthday was an entire week long.
We celebrated his birthday over Family Dinner with Jake's family...super sweet. They all spoiled him and really made him feel special.
We then celebrated is actual birthday at home with a cake and cupcakes. (I did the decorating....not so sure I'm ready for a real baking job...but I'm getting better)

Jake and I have started a tradition of going out to dinner somewhere fun on the real birth date....Carter's birthday was the start of our tradition at Texas Roadhouse. My mom and sister were able to come with us too. This isn't the greatest picture but the little man loved sitting on the saddle while they all sang to him.
Earlier that day, I took the afternoon off to bring Carter's favorite donuts to his class. He was stoked that I was there and that he got to share with all of his friends. I even checked him out early.....
The next weekend we all went to the Halloween Havoc Demolition Derby. I have to say...it was the best one yet! So much fun. We would all choose a car that was "us" as see who won. Super cute!
Happy Birthday Little Dude! We sure love you!

Halloween...Craft Edition

I love Fall and all that it brings. We've been so busy just trying to squeeze everything in lately.
I saw this idea online where you reward your child with a trip to the treasure chest for good behavior. I'm not a "negative" disciplinarian...so this positive take on it was perfect for us! The boys have been going through so many changes with school, moving, routines and now the cold weather that it's been a little challenging....the boys have seriously enjoyed this...greatest discipline ever!
I already posted about this...but it's the cutest craft ever! With a branch from Jane's tree and some twigs...this little witch's broom is my fav!
On one of our adventures on the river parkway, we found this awesome caterpillar. The boys had to bring it home, so I wrapped it in Carter's extra shirt and we brought it home. The boys had a lot of fun making a home for him too. Carter named him Furry Shadow Morris. Super funny!
While at my mom's we made these cute bats out of treats. My mom always has the best ideas.
Jake's sister in law made these ADORABLE necklaces for Halloween. She is super cute and very talented! I love wearing it...it's the perfect touch that's professional and yet festive.
The boys and I made these cute mummies. We took a plate of them to the neighbors too. We coated them in white chocolate and then put "wraps" on them with icing and added mini M&Ms for decoration. Super fun  edible craft and the sharing part was so fun with the boys.

We've been having so much fun and doing so many things lately...more posts to come.

Black Island Farms...

I love going to Black Island Farms. It is by far my favorite pumpkin patch! I have taken the boys there every year since Brax was born...but this was the first year that I had someone by my side. (I'm not sure how I did everything I did alone, but I'm sure getting used to having Jake next to me)

The boys had so much fun going on the Hay Ride...it's our  favorite part.
Shauna took some awesome pictures (she's seriously an amazing photographer) I'll post those when I get them.
This is a look at how the boys have grown.....

My, oh my, how these two have gotten so big! I love watching these little dudes grow up and become their own "people." Their personalities and special qualities are so fun to be around.

Fall.....

I love the Fall season...Halloween, turning leaves, cooler weather....it's all so fun.
We have been super busy lately....I'm trying to catch up on posting, we'll see how well I do...

Jake and his dad ran a booth at the Gun Show a couple weeks ago, the boys were so excited to go and check out everything. We love the Southtowne shows and always have a good time. Although a gun show isn't really my thing, I have to admit, it was super fun! The boys thought they were pretty cool going into the booth and "working"
Jane, Shauna, Kailee and I made these awesome witches brooms. These were from branches in Jane's front yard...super cool! They turned out adorable...I have to say for not being a super crafty person, this was way easy.
Carter's teacher sends home a packet once in awhile to have me cut things and send back to school with Carter. It's really fun for the little man to bring back the folder with the finished product....not so fun for me staying up uber late to get it done....but there's not much I wouldn't do for that kid.
My mom turned 50! So weird having her reach that milestone, that doesn't mean I'm any older right? I made some record stands for her "50's record" theme party. I skewered green and purple grapes (her favorite colors) and cut fresh roses from the garden.
I had the boys make this super cute record with their hand prints on it. My boys are still the only grandkids on my side of the fam, so it was really cute to see her face when she saw it.

Jake's family has unconditionally adopted the boys and I into their family. It has been so refreshing to be part of such a great family. Brax loves playing with little Cambrieal, they honestly get along so well.
I've been taking the boys on hikes or walks pretty much every day when we get home. It's been fun exploring with the little dudes.
This is just really funny....I was super tired after a long day but wanted to take the boys running, so I chugged a rockstar and was having Brax help throw it away when I thought this would make a funny pic. (there's nothing left in it)

On our adventure that day, we came across the furriest caterpillar I've ever seen. He was so cool we took him home and made a cage for him. Carter named him Furry Shadow Morris. :) Notice the car at the bottom....that's courtesy of two car loving boys!
It's been a fun adventure for sure!

Silver Lake...

Jake and I took the boys to Silver Lake over the summer. Jake had never been, and it had been an entire year since the boys and I went...so it was definitely time to explore the Big Cottonwood Canyon.

The views are just breath taking and the weather was really nice.

I'm glad my three favorite boys were with me that day....it's moments like these that make life worth it.

Kindergarten...

Oh Carter....what to say to my big Kindergartner.
You make your mom so proud each and everyday.....

You are getting so big and tall...
Seeing how smart you truly are, little man, is exciting!
Your little brother could not be more proud! He tries to be like you everyday...
I know that it can be hard to have a little brother....but you're the best example one could ask for....
Your mom's heart couldn't be more full.
First day.....of the rest of your life baby boy. I'm so glad Jake took the day off to help me get through the huge milestone all of us experienced that day...

The child that made me who I am today, is now in school and growing up so quickly. I wouldn't be the mom I am if it hadn't been for you Cars, I love you.

Milestones....

The boys and I have really gone through so much over this past year....and it's all finally coming together. I feel like "limbo" is the word that best reflects what our lives have been like over this past year and a half, but the wait for normalcy is finally over.
We have been doing so many things I can't even keep up on the posting. But here's a brief recap of what all of us have been up to.
The boys absolutely love our new backyard....they better enjoy the last few weeks we have before it gets too cold to enjoy it. They had a blast one day with bubbles....and was able to capture some really funny pics of them dancing around trying to catch the bubbles. Super adorable!
We watched Jane and Kent's dog, Maggie, while they were in Hawaii. The boys were thrilled to have a dog in the house to play with. These poor boys got used to having Timmy around everyday...so having Mags around was a nice treat for them. She really is the cutest dog....although Jake thinks she's evil. :)
Carter and I made a chain for how many days until he started Kindergarten....he loved taking the links off each day. (Don't mind the "no shirt" that kid won't sleep with a shirt on to save his life)
Here are my little men.....these two munchkins bring me so much joy....I absolutely love being their mom.
Jake and I (mostly Jake) painted the boys' room red. It's a gorgeous deep red that looks really cool. I didn't get any before pictures, but it was pink and light green....so for two boys...it's a vast improvement. We came home one evening to find new bedding for the boys. Jake bought Mario for Carter and Cars for Brax...super cute and the boys couldn't be more thrilled.
This playground set was here when Jake bought his house....little did he know that the boys would have an absolute blast on it everyday! Carter has been getting so brave and climbing everywhere on it which has been so fun to watch....while Brax has been having fun swinging on his belly and singing made up songs.
Carter has been doing so many things and going through so many changes....but this kid is such a trooper! Love him!
Brax is becoming quite the "chatty Kathy" but I must admit....it's really fun!
