Play Dates....

I have been working so hard lately, that I have made it a HUGE priority of mine to play hard too!
Last week, there was a day that I was working late and wasn't going to see the boys until 9 that night. So in the middle of the "school" day I checked Carter out and took him to SubZero. This kid loves it there! It was really fun because it was just the two of us and we had a blast!
We also got the chance to meet up with "Aunt Rachel" who we absolutely adore. I don't have a ton of friends in my life that I would consider to be like family, but this girl definitely is one of them. My boys just love her, and between the two of us, Rach and I can talk forever! We went shopping for summer clothes with the boys and had lunch at Chick-Fil-A where they had the "cow" out for the kiddos.
Scott and I have made it a priority to do things as a "family" once a month or so. This is such a great thing for the boys and I am committed to anything that will help them understand how we're still a family, just different now. We took the boys to the health food store where they each got to push around their own mini shopping carts.
I have been cherishing my "alone" time with these little dudes on my weekends with them. Carter and I introduced Brax to the wonderful world of Jiffy Pop! What's not to love about that right? Followed by a fun movie...it was a great night.
Our "play-dates" have been so much fun lately. Keep 'em coming!

Mother's Day...

This year, my Mother's Day was AMAZING! I had seriously the best time I've ever had. This weekend was Scott's weekend, so he had them Sunday morning. Which, I'm not going to lie....sleeping in was the BEST. :) I slept in for the first time in a long time.
Once he dropped them off, they presented me with homemade cards. I have to admit, Scott really impressed me with helping the boys make cards for me. Carter even made this cute flower pen and painted this pot for me at school.
My mom, sister and I took the boys on a drive through Antelope Island. Carter loved it.

Sweet little Brax slept the ENTIRE time!

We even took little Timmy with us. After our drive, a BBQ and playing outside.....our day was over. I have to say...I'm a pretty proud mom of my two sweet little guys.

Growing Up....

My little guys are both doing so much lately....and growing into such amazing little dudes!

This stud....is in the process of potty training. Today he went to daycare and didn't have any accidents, I've only been working with him for a few days. It's a lot harder this time around because I work so much and the boys go between Scott and myself, so consistency is not in my favor. But he has prevailed! Love him.....
Carter is also growing....and that means no more training wheels! This little guy is doing so well. It's a slow process...but I have gotten some good leg exercise from it! My dad came over and helped us take the training wheels off and showed Carter his very first time how to ride without them.
I'm also getting the very rare chance to grow up as well. It's been fun having some weekends "off duty" from being a mom and getting to do the things I've never gotten a chance to do before. My mom and I have been doing a lot more shopping, eating out and exploring this amazing world we live in.
It's been a fun few weeks for our little fam.

Lucky Time!

For St. Patrick's Day this year I made these cute goodies for the boys. I got them off a cute website and they were super easy. This is what the cute little guys woke up to find on the coffee table...
I made these cute little envelopes as well. They have the 10 reasons why I love them so much! It was so fun reading each reason to them. They would listen and blush each time I read a new one....precious!
Speaking of Lucky....I've been killing my sales goals lately. So to celebrate, my boss took the managers out for the day. We went Go Kart racing in Layton, I have to admit I had a BLAST! I even finished second! We then finished our day with a lunch at Brixton's.
Life's been pretty good to us lately.

Party and Jazz Game....

Carter's daycare and preschool friends all invite each other to their birthday parties. It's been fun meeting the other moms and the kids that my boys play with on a daily basis.
We were invited last week to a party at The Kangaroo Zoo....it was by far one of the best parties we've been to!
Braxton is super lucky to go to all of these parties with his big brother. He sure does enjoy being big...
It was really fun to be there with the boys. It's been a huge goal of mine to make sure I don't miss out on the little moments with them. Working so much and still taking care of everything at home, it's been a challenge but it's paying off.
I scored some FREE Jazz tickets for that same night. Julia and Jimmy and I took the boys and really had a great time! Don't mind my lack of makeup...that's what happens after 13 hours of running around crazy.
The boys got pretzels and really loved them.
Sweet little Brax was super cute....he walked (I mean ran) his little legs all the way through the Gateway and up to the Energy Solutions Arena. He was so tired out he almost fell asleep on Uncle Jimmy.

A Day at the Park....

Jensen Park in Syracuse is one of our favorite places to go. My dad had the whole family over for dinner on a Sunday....but before we headed to the park to feed the ducks.
The boys had so much fun feeding the ducks. There were some babies and even one with an afro! Super funny.
These boys are getting so big. It's been really fun to see them grow.
I'm ready for the warm weather! One day soon we'll be playing longer and longer outside.

Lately...

My dad and sister met the boys and I for dinner the other night at Boston's. It was a perfect night for all of us, Julia and I got off at the same time and my dad was in the area. Boston's is one of our family's favorite places to eat.
Silly Brax sat through the entire dinner with his jacket and hat on....
How I got stuck on the other booth with the messy one while my dad and sister got to sit with the neat freak....
The other day I had a late event I needed to be at....it was one of those moments where you realize just how hard being a single parent is. Thank goodness I work at a Fun Center right? Julia had Braxton spraying the shoes....
While I had Carter putting away shoes...
We have also been working on "teaching" each other reading techniques at night. Carter sits in his elmo chair and reads to Brax and I....
Brax does the same...but the stories he tells are far more interesting than what's really in the book!
I'm loving being a mom right now....my boys are so fun!
